When a training period abroad takes more than four weeks a training plan, approved by the competent authority, has to be arranged (German legislation). The sending and the hosting company agree on which contents are to be learned during the period abroad. The base is the official training regulation of the sending country. The training plan has to be submitted to the competent authority.
The Training plan is designed from a German point of view. It shall serve VET schools in other countries as a model, and can be adjusted to particular national conditions when sending own apprentices abroad.

With the logbook the apprentice documents the training period abroad. He / she describes from a personal point of view, what kind of technical, linguistic, cultural and personal knowledge and skills he / she has gained abroad. This way it becomes clear what the apprentice has learned in addition to the usual training at home. This information is interesting for the training company but also for other companies the apprentice might apply for in future. The host and the sending company have access to the logbook and the opportunity to comment on it.
To create a Logbook via Facebook you can use the application "Group".
Condition: persons who should have access to the group must be registered on Facebook and they have to be your "friend".
Set up a group named "Logbook" within your Facebook account and invite everyone who should have access to that group to join in.
The security setting of the group should at least be set to "Closed". This way the group is visible for all "friends", but only members can read your entries. If you choose the security setting "Secret" the group will only be visible for members and only they can read your postings.
Within the group you can report regularly about your training abroad. The group members have the opportunity to comment on your reports.

The feedback questionnaire aims to collect the experiences which teachers made with GVA. Therefore, the target group of the questionnaire is teachers. Until now the feedback questionnaire was used as a guide for interviews.
Within the project GVA different apprentices have spend part of their apprenticeship abroad. So fare apprentices in the branches carpentry and metal work participated. Some of the joint cross-boarder vocational education and training was co-ordinated between German and French companies. All companies involved stress the general benefit of long-term stays abroad (e. g. increase of inter-cultural competencies) as well as the professional benefit. The professional benefit has been analysed in a comparison of professions. Therefore French counterparts of the German professions “Metallbauer” (metal worker) and “Zimmerer“ (carpenter) were identified and professional differences have been analysed with a the help of a special grid. It is shown that even close related European professions benefit professionally. With other words: French and German apprentices benefit already professionally from long-term stays abroad. The comparison method and the results are explained in the paper “Vergleich internationaler Berufsbilder”.
Within the project LaWA long-term stays abroad were organized for and carried out by apprentices of crafts companies. The European Credit System for VET (ECVET) is concerned primarily with the recognition of learning outcomes acquired abroad - for example through long-term stays of apprentices. Derived from the ECVET various tools and procedures have been developed and tested to support the organization of international assignments as well as the documentation and certification of appropriate learning success. The ECVET expertise gives an insight into the background and introduces the tools and procedures in detail.
