
The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Heves County with its headquarters in Northern Hungarian Eger was founded in 1995 by the adoption of the legislation about professional bodies and chambers. Its most important tasks are:
The Chamber is a public-law corporation and it assumes its tasks according to the self-administration principle. The companies decide on their membership on a voluntary basis.
Among others, the specific tasks of the Chamber include the development of economy and trade, the collection and supply of economically relevant data, the development of ethic rules for the conduct on the market and the organisation of exhibitions and conferences. The organisation and implementation of vocational education measures and of the masters’ courses and the related administration activities are very important tasks to perform as well.
The tasks of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Hevey county within the project „Learning Path“ comprise the elaboration of the Hungarian E-Business syllabus, the management of the Hungarian learning portal and the testing of the newly developed methodical didactic concept with SME.
HKIK is situated in North-Hungary, in Heves County. The county seat Eger is 120 km from the capital, Budapest. The HKIK’s most important objective is to promote the development and the organization of the economy, to facilitate the general and common representation of the business units’ interests. The structure of the chamber consists of 3 sections (Industrial, Commercial, Crafts). The present number of volunteer members is more than 800 companies, which represent the economy of the county. The form of the chamber is public body, operating on the basis of the self-government principle. The specific duties of the Chamber include the development of business activity and commerce, the collection of information related to the economy, providing information, the elaboration of ethical rules for market attitude. The chamber has 19 employees, the department of vocational training and education has 7 members: the head of the department, 5 consultants and 1 administrator. Vocational trainings, master courses and the related administrative tasks are of high importance. The Chamber has efficient cooperation with all vocational schools and companies active in vocational training and educational centers in Heves County. To continuously introduce the modern communication technologies and to encourage their application by SMEs, HKIK organizes e-learning course. HKIK has good experiences in national and international projects.
