The Borgund vidaregaande skole (BVS) in Aalesund is a vocational school for approx. 750 students and with 180 employees in 5 departments: Electrical Engineering, Health and Social Professions, Design and Arts and Crafts, Construction, Technical Engineering and Industrial Production. Altogether some 200 professions are taught. In most profession the school teaches the theoretical part within 2 years, and the apprentices will finish the practical part within a company. Being the largest VET school in the region the school is in good contact with the local economy. BVS also is partner of the Chamber of Crafts and Skilled Trades Münster within the exchange programme Gjör det. Since 2004 the mutual exchange of apprentices has taken part with approx. 20 apprentices at a time. Also mobility projects in cooperation with Spain and Ireland are currently under preparation. Further, BVS was partner of the HWK Münster within a Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Project for person responsible for VET.
